Blow-off Valves release
pressure on gear change, which if not fitted can stall and sometimes
even cause backspin of the turbine. If this is not vented properly
it will eventually cause bearing, seal and turbine damage due
to the huge stresses placed on it from the inertia of stopping
and starting. The Hybrid valve (GFBBOV3) has been specifically
developed for air flow metered cars where some venting back
to turbo is beneficial, so as not to confuse the computer into
providing more fuel than necessary. in most cases this stops
the backfires caused by excess unburnt fuel igniting in your
exhaust.
